COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

CARERS CREATIVE CIC

Company Number: 13210889 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 February 2026

Company activities and impact

Carers Creative CIC is a Community Interest Company founded from lived experience as unpaid carers. Our purpose is to improve the wellbeing and mental health of unpaid carers by delivering accessible, creative activities that provide opportunities for self-expression, social connection, and respite from caring responsibilities. We offer a range of creative workshops, including indoor sessions held in community venues and outdoor activities such as nature sketching walks. Our workshops are designed to be adaptable to the needs of different groups of carers and draw on our professional and creative backgrounds alongside our personal experience of caring. This combination enables us to provide activities that are adaptable to the needs of the participants- and designed from their perspective, we are made by carers-for carers. Our long-term aim is to complement existing support services by offering an independent wellbeing service that aims to reduce isolation and support carers before they reach crisis point or burnout. By improving carers' wellbeing, we hope to contribute to reducing pressure on statutory services, including the NHS, while working alongside local charities and community organisations. During the financial year, our primary focus has been on strengthening the foundations of the organisation. We invested time in developing our skills, building partnerships, and expanding our professional network to ensure we can deliver higher-quality, more tailored workshops in the future. These activities should increase our capacity to reach more unpaid carers, establish sustainable collaborations, and prepare for the delivery of greater community impact in the years ahead.

Consultation with stakeholders

This year we have participated in training with SCVS-Swansea Council for voluntary services and received advice from Swansea Carers Center. Our clients are unpaid Carers- and any value adding activities such as training have been in order to strengthen our company with practical skills. Consultations were both online and in-person with several group training sessions and 1-1 support sessions. We are working on Carers Creative activities becoming part of the local ‘social subscribing’ project with the Swansea Bay health board.
