  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the invoiced value of goods and services supplied by the company, net of Value Added Tax and trade discounts.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less depreciation. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost less estimated residual value of each asset over its expected useful life, as follows: Plant and Machinery - 20% per annum of cost Fixtures and Fittings - 20% per annum of cost Motor Vehicles - 25% per annum of cost The company held no tangible fixed assets during the year.

Company activities and impact

PART 1 - GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY'S ACTIVITIES AND IMPACT The CIC carried on its activities for the benefit of the community. BIRMINGHAM SOCIAL & CULTURAL ORGANISATION (UK) CIC provided benefit to socially and economically deprived minority communities in Birmingham, where unemployment, poverty and social exclusion are very high. BIRMINGHAM SOCIAL & CULTURAL ORGANISATION (UK) CIC helped bring community harmony through the celebration of various arts and cultural events throughout the year. The company's activities included the following: 1. Cultural and social events 2. Youth motivation 3. Community services in respect of welfare and benefits 4. Career guidance 5. Family wellbeing 6. Training and education of children and adults
