Skate Hub London is London's first and only purpose built skateboarding School. We have been dedicated in our mission statement to reduce barriers of entry into Skateboarding which is now an Olympic Sport with GB earning a medal at the last Olympics. Our Skate Facility is 100% learner focused making a clear distinction between a skate park and skate school. We teach 100s of people of all ages every month with 1000s using our services in year one. We run many community based programmes including: - Free monthly Womens and Gender Non Conforming sessions designed to reduce barriers of entry for marginalized communities, these run for 3 hours each and have been sold out every month - Free sessions given to local scout groups for children - Over 100 free hours of lessons and open skates delivered in year one - Free sessions completed with our local authority in local parks - Kids only sessions such as clubs, camps and workshops - Collaboration with groups such as London Skate Mums to encourage parents to also get involved in Skateboarding with dedicated discounts offered to their members - Support on local grassroots causes such as "Save Kennington Skate Bowl" which reached national news. - London's Only Free Community skate Chest where students and staff regularly donate equipment to be repurposed to those who may not be able to afford new - A year one commitment to keeping our prices the cheapest for any indoor skate lessons in London - Discounted lessons for homeschooled children to help encourage physical activity. Our community is our biggest drive and will be working closely with more local schools and groups in year 2
Our regular members and attendees are regularly consulted and directly asked for feedback on services they projects they would like to see, our 110 5 Star ( out of 110 ) Google reviews are reflective of us being responsive to what our communities want. We were born out of community action with £22,000 being raised to help build our facility so will always be community focused We previously named our monthly Women's and GNC night as Ladies and Non-Binary night, but upon consultation with members of the community who also run the London Based TransSkaters LGBTQ+ collective we updated the terms of language to better reflect their preference. We have updated and changed our session times to enable best ease of access for our users. We often invite suggestions and ideas via social media
