Company activities and impact

During the financial year, UKUNNCERS C.I.C. continued to promote education, social mobility, professional development and community engagement amongst alumni, students and friends of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) residing in the United Kingdom. The company organised and supported a range of alumni networking events, social gatherings and professional development activities across London and other regions of the UK. These activities enabled alumni to expand professional networks, exchange career opportunities, develop mentoring relationships and maintain connections with their university community. UKUNNCERS C.I.C. facilitated communication between alumni, students and university representatives through online channels, events and community engagement initiatives. Particular focus was given to supporting recent graduates and early-career professionals through knowledge sharing, career guidance and peer support. The company also strengthened relationships with the wider university community by supporting visits from university representatives and providing opportunities for alumni to engage directly with university leadership and staff. The activities undertaken during the year contributed to: i. Increased social connectedness among UK-based alumni. ii. Enhanced career development and mentoring opportunities. iii. Greater engagement between alumni and the university. iv. Improved access to professional and educational networks. v. Promotion of cultural exchange and community cohesion. It is considered that these activities have delivered clear community benefits by supporting educational advancement, professional development, social inclusion and lifelong alumni engagement.

Consultation with stakeholders

KUNNCERS C.I.C. consulted with its key stakeholders, including UK-based UNNC alumni, current and prospective students, university representatives, sponsors and supporters. Consultation took place through networking events, alumni gatherings, online discussions, social media engagement, surveys and direct conversations with alumni volunteers and university staff. Feedback highlighted a desire for more frequent networking opportunities, greater career and mentoring support, more family-friendly and regional events, and stronger connections between alumni and the university. In response, the company expanded alumni engagement activities, explored new event formats, enhanced communications and continued to develop opportunities for professional networking, mentoring and knowledge exchange.
