COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

HOMEKIDZ C.I.C.

Company Number: 15206116 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

The company started the year benefitting from a local grant provided by G.A.V.O that aimed to fund a warm space during the winter months. This enabled us to extend the breadth of educational and social activities to a wider range of families in Newport. It also provided a financial buffer to assist with taking advantage of short term opportunities, as they arose such as the purchase of equipment to facilitate cooking events and hosting socials that involve food. Furthermore, during the same period, we acquired an additional two volunteers to manage events and administration and liaised with other local charitable group to promote workshops, social events and online learning opportunities. This collaborative approach with other agencies continued throughout the year and resulted in a further 35 families and 82 members becoming aware of our services. The most successful source of growth continues to be positive word of mouth from existing families and growing social media presence. Advertising took place in the form of local community adverts and liaising with the local children's disability center. The range of educational topics also extended to include S.T.E.M via a local university, vocational workshops to include Police and Fire Station visits and nature club with a local bee keeping society. The company year ended having acquired two further premises to rent thus limiting the reliance on the existing venue, which does not have storage facilities.
