Dery Community Centre CIC Tuition Programme, which supports many young people from across the local community and surrounding constituencies. This year, in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), we successfully delivered a 15-week GCSE tuition programme supporting local secondary school students facing significant educational barriers and disadvantage. The programme directly supported around 60 students, providing support in GCSE English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and other key subjects. Many students improved their predicted grades, increased their confidence, and became more engaged in education. Some students shared that they moved from achieving grades 1s and 2s in Maths to achieving 4s and 5s, while others improved from Grade 5s to Grade 6s and 7s in Science subjects. Parents and schools also reported improved behaviour, confidence, and study habits among participating students.
