Choir rehearsals Between 11th November 2024 and 31st December 2025 there have been thirty-six free choir rehearsals, usually weekly, with an average attendance of fourteen refugee and asylum seekers. Choir members and musicians reflect a wide range of nationalities and cultures including: Cameroonian, Congolese, English, Iranian, Italian, Kurdish, Nigerian, Pakistani, Ugandan and Ukrainian. The age range of the choir members ranges from between seven years and sixty-five years old with a fairly even gender split. The choir rehearsals in addition to developing musical skills and having fun also: Engages choir members to help develop their self esteem, confidence and make new friends. Provides a safe, inclusive musical community supporting well being, confidence and social connection and interaction. Reduces isolation and supporting integration through shared cultural experiences. Breaks down barriers between people of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds through singing.
The company's stakeholders are refugee and asylum seeker choir members, refugee linked organisations and wider refugee and asylum seeker community in London. We are committed to formalising our consultation process in the future byt to date any consultation has been limited to: 1.) Choir members who are regularly asked for their opinion about how to improve the Woven Gold expoerience for existing and future members and the impact we can have on the wider refugee community. 2.) Refugee organisations who we have reached out to so as to formalise partnerships to help better support the community
