    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    Going Concern The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The company's ongoing activities are dependent upon the continued support of the director who has undertaken to provide such support for the foreseeable future. Website cost Planning and operating costs for the company's website are charged to the profit and loss account as incurred.

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Unity in Design Global Network CIC UDGN continued its mission of creating equitable access pathways for individuals from ethnically diverse and underrepresented backgrounds within the fashion and creative industries. The company delivered a range of activities focused on education, professional development, mentorship, networking, industry access and employability. These activities included workshops, mentoring sessions, industry talks, career support, creative development programmes, fashion showcases and opportunities for participants to connect with professionals across the fashion sector. A key focus of the organisation was reducing barriers to entry faced by emerging designers, fashion professionals and creative entrepreneurs who may otherwise struggle to access industry knowledge, networks and opportunities. Through its programmes, participants received practical guidance on brand development, business skills, professional practice, career progression and industry engagement. The company also developed partnerships with educational institutions, industry organisations, creative professionals and community stakeholders to increase access to opportunities and support the long term sustainability of creative careers. As a result of these activities, participants reported increased confidence, improved industry knowledge, stronger professional networks and greater access to opportunities that support career progression within the creative industries. The companys activities contributed to community benefit by supporting social mobility, promoting diversity and inclusion within the fashion sector, and helping individuals develop the skills, knowledge and connections required to pursue sustainable careers within the creative economy.

Consultation with stakeholders

The companys stakeholders include programme participants, designers, creative professionals, volunteers, mentors, educational partners, industry partners, community organisations and supporters. Stakeholder feedback was gathered through programme evaluations, surveys, informal discussions, meetings, one to one conversations, social media engagement and ongoing communication with participants and partners. Feedback received highlighted the need for increased access to industry professionals, practical business support, mentorship opportunities, networking opportunities and pathways into employment and entrepreneurship within the creative industries. In response to stakeholder feedback, the company continued to develop programmes focused on professional development, industry access, mentoring and community building. The company also strengthened partnerships with industry professionals and organisations to provide participants with greater access to knowledge, resources and opportunities. Feedback continues to inform the design and delivery of future activities and programmes to ensure they remain relevant to the needs of the communities the company serves.
