| The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the year ended 31 March 2026. |
| Principal activities |
| The company works to promote a positive approach to Arab-British relations by providing an unrivalled forum |
| for a diverse range of politicians, journalists, opinion formers and members of the public to co-operate on |
| issues relating to the Arab world. Our key objectives are to: |
| (a) Press for constructive British policies towards the Middle East and North Africa and ensure that important |
| Arab concerns cannot be discounted or ignored; |
| (b) Raise awareness, challenge inaccurate or biased coverage in the British media and work to ensure that |
| prejudice against Arabs in the UK is regarded as unacceptable as prejudice against other race groups; |
| (c) Encourage critical exploration and engagement with the Arab world, and have a long-term impact on the |
| way the region and Arab-British communities are addressed in British schools. |
| Primary responsibility for the delivery of our objectives rests with our Political, Media and Education |
| programmes and we engage in a wide range of activities, including:- |
| (1) Arranging parliamentary delegations to the Arab world; |
| (2) Maintaining active links with Government ministers and their political advisers, lobbying them on key |
| issues; |
| (3) Providing MPs and Lords from all political parties with up-to-date information and specialist seminars and |
| events; |
| (4) Providing expert commentators to a variety of UK and Arab media outlets, giving interviews on major |
| broadcasting networks and publishing letters in leading newspapers; |
| (5) Keeping members and supporters informed via our daily broadsheet digest; |
| (6) Delivering some talks and workshops in UK schools every year; |
| (7) Providing original online teaching materials to help teachers tackle a range of issues in a well-informed |
| and dynamic way; |
| (8) Arranging a programme of events, ranging from seminars and round-table discussions for decision-makers and opinion-formers to large public lectures for members and supporters. |
