GENESIS PRIVATE EQUITY LIMITED

Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 30 June 2026

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Cost includes the purchase price together with any directly attributable expenditure incurred in bringing the asset into use. Depreciation is provided so as to write off the cost of tangible fixed assets, less their estimated residual values, over their estimated useful economic lives using the straight-line method. We have elected to depreciate the value of the asset on a straight line basis at the rate of 15%

    Intangible fixed assets amortisation policy

Intangible fixed assets are recognised at cost where it is probable that the expected future economic benefits attributable to the asset will flow to the Company and the cost of the asset can be measured reliably. They are stated at cost less accumulated amortisation and any accumulated impairment losses. Amortisation is charged so as to allocate the cost of each intangible asset over its estimated useful economic life. The amortisation period for each asset is determined having regard to the underlying commercial agreements, contractual arrangements or the period over which the asset is expected to generate economic benefits for the Company. Accordingly, intangible fixed assets are amortised over the period specified in the relevant commercial agreement or, where appropriate, over their estimated useful economic lives where this differs from the contractual term. The Directors review the useful economic lives, amortisation periods and carrying values of intangible fixed assets at least annually. Where circumstances indicate that the remaining useful economic life or expected pattern of economic benefit has changed, the amortisation period is revised prospectively to reflect the revised estimate.
