Company activities and impact

Community Care East CIC was incorporated on 29 October 2024 to provide hot meals and food support to homeless people, refugees, and other vulnerable individuals across East London. This was the company's first financial period, during which its activities benefited the community in the following ways: The company established the foundations for its community food programme, including opening a community bank account, engaging consultancy support for its setup and funding application, and beginning development of its website and social media presence to reach people in need of food support. The company was awarded £19,500 from The National Lottery Community Fund (Project ID 20319668) in September 2025 to support the delivery of its community food programme. Toward the end of the period, the company began purchasing prepared food from local catering suppliers for distribution as hot meals to homeless people and refugees in East London. Since the period end, delivery activity has scaled up significantly, with regular weekly food purchases and hot meal distribution to vulnerable communities across East London, supporting the company's core mission.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are the homeless people, refugees, and vulnerable individuals it supports in East London, along with local community members, food suppliers, and its funder, The National Lottery Community Fund. The directors have longstanding connections to the East London community and developed the company's meal programme based on their experience of engaging directly with people in need of food support in the area. The directors consulted informally with local community members, individuals receiving food support, and community contacts to understand where need was greatest and what form of support would be most effective. In response to this feedback, the company focused its programme on the regular distribution of hot meals in the areas of greatest need. Feedback continues to be gathered informally during food distribution and is used to shape where and how meals are provided.
