| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| These financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with section 1A of Financial Reporting Standard 102, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and the Companies Act 2006. |
| The preparation of financial statements in compliance with FRS 102 requires the use of certain critical accounting estimates. It also requires management to exercise judgement in applying the Company's accounting policies. |
| Related party exemption |
| The company has taken advantage of exemption, under the terms of Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland', not to disclose related party transactions with wholly owned subsidiaries within the group. |
| Significant judgements and estimates |
| In preparing the financial statements it is necessary to make certain judgements, estimates and assumptions that affect the amounts recognised in the financial statements. These assumptions are reassessed annually as part of the accounts preparation process. |
| In the view of the directors in applying the accounting policies adopted, no judgements were requires that have a significant effect on the amounts recognised in the financial statements nor do any estimates or assumptions made carry a significant risk of material adjustment in the next financial year. |
| Turnover |
| Turnover comprises commissions receivable from group companies excluding Value Added Tax. |
| Tangible fixed assets |
| Tangible fixed assets under the cost model are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Historical cost includes expenditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the location and condition necessary for it to be capable of operating in the manner intended by management. |
| Depreciation has been provided at the following annual rates on the straight line basis, in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. |

| Financial instruments |
| Financial assets and liabilities are recognised when the company becomes party to the contractual provisions of the financial instrument. The company holds basic financial instruments, which comprise cash and cash equivalents, trade and other receivables, trade and other payables and loans and borrowings. The company has chosen to apply the provisions of Section 11 Basic Financial Instrument. |

| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
| Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
| Foreign currencies |
| Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |
| Leases |
| All leases held by the company are regarded as operating leases and the total of payments made under them is charged to the profit and loss account on a straight line basis over the lease term. |
| Going concern |
| The Directors have considered the budgets and cash flow forecasts for the Company and believe the Company will be able to meet its liabilities as they fall due for at least 12 months from signing of these financial statements and so the financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. |
| Cash and cash equivalents |
| Cash is represented by cash in hand and deposits with financial institutions repayable without penalty on notice of not more than 24 hours. Cash equivalents are highly liquid investments that mature in no more than three months from the date of acquisition and that are readily convertible to known amounts of cash with insignificant risk of change in value. |
