| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| The financial statements are for the individual entity only. |
| The financial statements are presented in sterling (£), rounded to the nearest £1. |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents amounts derived from the provision of services to clients during the year, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax, and other sales and including estimates of amounts not invoices. Revenues in respect of long term contracts and contracts for ongoing services is recognised in the income statement by reference to the stage of completion at the period end, provided that a right to consideration has been obtained through performance. Consideration accrues as contract activity progresses by reference to the value of work performed. |
| Financial instruments |
| (i) Financial assets |
| Basic financial assets, including unlisted fixed asset investments, trade receivables and cash and bank balances, are initially recognised at transaction price and subsequently carried at amortised cost with an assessment for objective evidence of impairment. Any impairment is recognised in profit or loss. |
| Financial assets are derecognised when (a) the contractual rights to the cash flows from the asset expire or are settled, or (b) substantially all the risks and rewards or control of the ownership of the asset are transferred to another party. |
| (ii) Financial liabilities |
| Basic financial liabilities, including trade and other payables are initially recognised at transaction price and subsequently carried at amortised cost. |
| Financial liabilities are derecognised when the liability is extinguished, that is when the contractual obligation is discharged, cancelled or expires. |
| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |

| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |

| Deferred tax |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
| Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |

| 10. | CONTINGENT LIABILITIES |
| During a prior year the company lost a court case. Expected costs payable in connection with related cases which can no longer proceed are included in accruals. Further legal costs may be incurred, but at the time of the publication of these accounts, the final figure has not been confirmed. |
| As detailed in the related party disclosures note, Clear Legal Limited has provided guarantees to secure the borrowings of Clear Law LLP, a related entity. This includes a debenture dated 16 July 2025, including a fixed and floating charge, as security for liabilities owed to PRL Legal Funding Limited by Clear Law LLP. |

| During the year Clear Legal Limited received commercial income of £37,882 (2024: £18,470) and management charges income of £550,000 (2024: £450,000). |
| During the current and prior year Clear Law LLP received funding from a number of lenders.This is secured by guarantees given by Clear Legal Limited. At year end Clear Legal Limited had guaranteed balances totalling £1,148,690 (2024: £324,164). |
