COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

KIRBABIL COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 12658411 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 June 2026

Company activities and impact

In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. Kirbabil was unable to carry out its planned activities this year because it could not secure the funding required under the business plan. As a result, no activities were delivered directly to the community. The company was also unable to meet lender requirements, including lenders accredited under the government’s Growth Guarantee Scheme. These requirements included evidence of UK trading activity over a specified period and strong credit scores. Kirbabil has not yet begun trading sesame seeds in the UK. The company will aim to raise enough funds through other channels so that it can build a sustainable trading record for sesame seeds in the UK and, in turn, scale up the business as stipulated in the business plan.

Consultation with stakeholders

Please indicate who the company’s stakeholders are; how the stakeholders have been consulted and what action, if any, has the company taken in response to feedback from its consultations? If there has been no consultation, this should be made clear. Kirbabil did not consult directly with the farming community in Uganda this year because the planned sesame business could not begin without the required funding. In October 2025, Kirbabil took part in exploratory discussions with members of the Nuba community living in the United Kingdom about establishing a formal community group to support their social and economic wellbeing. The group discussed structures, mechanisms, and activities that may be needed to achieve this aim. Two Kirbabil directors attended these discussions to assess whether the company could support future activities that would benefit the community.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was received

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
