COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

THE CREATORS HOUSE LTD COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 13920142 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 February 2026

Company activities and impact

The Creators House Ltd Community Interest Company was set up to benefit the community, primarily musicians and individuals interested in the music, media and creative industries in the Greater London area. Our priority outcomes include the acquisition of social and technical skills and the promotion of social mobility and inclusion within the music, media and creative sector. During the year, our CIC activities have been focused on two key pillars: music, media and creative production; and employability and creative industry pathways. Pillar 1: Music, Media and Creative Production The core purpose of this pillar has been developing creative technical skills in music and media production, preparing participants for industry pathways. Activities have included music production, recording and studio engineering, DJ skills, radio presenting, film production, editing and post-production, and podcasting and audio storytelling. The outcomes for our participants have been creative industry skills, portfolio development, industry readiness and entry level employment pathways. Pillar 2: Employability and Creative Industry Pathways The core purpose of this pillar has been to support young people and adults into employment, internships and structured progression routes in creative industries. Activities have included internship programmes with partner organisations, work experience placements, CV building and professional development sessions, industry mentoring, career readiness workshops and structured progression pathways. The outcomes for our participants have been employability skills, work experience, industry exposure and job readiness.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are the local community in the London area, with a focus on Kennington and the London Borough of Lambeth where our community interest company is based, particularly those interested in a career in the music, media and creative industry. During the year, we have consulted with our participants to understand what activities and content they most enjoy and find most engaging, and what builds their confidence. We have used this feedback to tailor our future activities to reflect our ethos of building social mobility and inclusion within the music, media and creative sector. We have consulted with local stakeholders including the local community, educational establishments and local authorities to understand how we can develop our services to meet their needs better. We have also spoken to business owners and leaders across the music, media and creative sector to understand the skill sets they require in future so that we can create activities and programmes to support young people and adults into employment in these sectors. As a result of our consultation, we plan to broaden the focus of our CIC to incorporate two new pillars of activity, subject to gaining the necessary consents from the CIC Regulator and Companies House and making the required changes to our governing documents. Pillar 3: Wellbeing, Community and Inclusion The core purpose of this pillar will be to use creativity and structured activity to improve wellbeing, confidence and social inclusion across all age groups. Planned activities include youth wellbeing programmes, senior citizen creative engagement, intergenerational workshops, confidence building creative sessions, community connection events and safe social creative spaces. The expected outcomes of this pillar are improved mental wellbeing, reduced isolation, community cohesion and accessible creative participation across age groups. Pillar 4: Creative Craft and Cultural Arts The core purpose of this pillar will be to deliver high skill, hands on cultural and craft based creative education with artistic and commercial value. Planned activities include millinery (hat making and fashion craft), painting and fine art, textile and mixed media craft, cultural design practices, foreign exchange programmes and handmade product creation. The expected outcomes of this pillar are cultural and artistic skill development, portfolio based creative work, artisan and micro enterprise pathways and exhibition ready creative outputs. We are excited about the prospect of broadening and increasing the positive impact that the CIC will have in our local community and of improving outcomes and life chances for our participants.
