During the financial year, Ginas For The Community CIC continued to deliver a range of community initiatives that improved the health, wellbeing and opportunities of people across our local communities. We continued to collect surplus food from local retailers, preventing good food from going to waste and redistributing it to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Alongside food redistribution, we delivered community outreach, providing practical support, signposting and opportunities for local people to engage with our wider services. We delivered sexual health awareness programmes that provided young people with accurate, age-appropriate information on healthy relationships, consent, contraception, sexually transmitted infections, online safety and accessing local health services. The programmes helped participants make informed decisions, improve their confidence and reduce stigma around discussing sexual health. We delivered electrical safety awareness programmes, educating young people on common electrical hazards in the home, fire prevention, energy awareness and safe everyday practices. The programmes increased participants' understanding of how to recognise risks and protect themselves, their families and their communities. To improve physical and mental wellbeing, we expanded opportunities for girls and young women from disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in regular sport. Through our football sessions, participants developed confidence, teamwork, resilience and leadership skills while enjoying access to positive role models and a safe, inclusive environment where they could remain active and build lasting friendships. Across all of our activities, we worked in partnership with schools, community organisations and local businesses to create opportunities that reduce inequality, promote healthier lifestyles, strengthen community connections and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
