Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Kenville Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 01772691 . The registered office is Devonshire House, Manor Way, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, WD6 1QQ.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements are prepared in accordance with the FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities - The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the entity.
2.2. Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts. Turnover includes revenue earned from the rendering of services. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances.
Rendering of services
Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs. Turnover is only recognised to the extent of recoverable expenses when the outcome of a contract cannot be estimated reliably.
2.3. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:
Freehold Not depreciated
Leasehold Not depreciated
Fixtures & Fittings Fully depreciated
Computer Equipment Fully depreciated
2.4. Investment Properties
Investment property comprises non-owner occupied buildings held to earn rentals and for capital appreciation.
All investment properties are carried at fair value. The fair value of the company's investment properties is determined annually at the reporting date by the directors. In determining the valuations, the directors refer to current market conditions and recent sales transactions of similar properties. In estimating the fair value of the properties, the highest and best use of the property is their current use. Investment property is not depreciated since the properties are being maintained in good repair order and in the opinion of the director these are correctly stated in the accounts. Changes in fair value, if any, are recognised in the income statement.
2026 fair value of investment property: £2,677,673 (2025: £2,677,673)
Investment property is derecognised when disposed of, or when no future economic benefits are expected from the disposal. Any gain or loss arising on derecognition of the property is recognised in profit or loss in the period in which the property is derecognised.
2.5. Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include trade and other debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at transaction price including transaction costs and where material are subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method, less any impairment.
2.6. Basic financial liabilities
Basic financial liabilities, including trade and other payables and loans from company undertakings that are classified as debt are initially measured at transaction price unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present value of the future payments discounted at the market rate of interest.
2.7. Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less.
