During the year, we have: 1 Carried out monthly community walks and talks in the Chiltern Hills / local area for groups ranging from 3 to 75 in age. These have helped people exercise as well as helping to reduce social anxiety and allowed walkers to make new friends and share knowledge and experiences. In addition, we organised a residential event for a number of our walkers in Dorset. 2 We have been active on social media promoting health, wellbeing and community connections. The main focus however has been on Biodiversity. The feedback received has been very positive. 3 Working with the Chilterns Open Air Museum, we assisted with several cultural events including Diwali celebrations. 4 We continued our work with Coventry University on the three-year Biodiversity project funded by Horizon Europe; this came to an end in Nov 2025. 5 We continue to work with the Museum of Rural Life (part of Reading University) on a number of Diversity & Inclusion projects.
Our stakeholders are our engaged community on social media and those who attend our monthly walks as well as the organisations we work with. We consult with them informally on a monthly basis, but we also consulted formally on future activities. As a result of the feedback, we have tailored the walks in terms of distance and duration and also include specialist talks on relevant subject matter particularly focusing on subject matter of interest to the walkers. As part of the work, we did with Coventry Univieristy we hosted an online conference for senior leaders in the environmental / biodiversity space.
