Company activities and impact

Purple Door Studio CIC has continued to make a positive impact within the local community by providing inclusive, affordable performing arts opportunities for children, young people, adults, and individuals with disabilities. Throughout the financial year, we have created a safe, welcoming environment where participants can develop confidence, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, build friendships, and learn valuable life skills through dance and the performing arts. We have worked closely with local schools, families, and community organisations to ensure that opportunities are accessible to those who may otherwise face financial, social, or personal barriers to participation. Through workshops, outreach activities, and community projects, we have introduced performing arts to children who may never have had the opportunity to take part before. Our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes have provided enriching holiday experiences for children eligible for free school meals, combining high-quality dance and creative activities with healthy meals, nutrition education, and opportunities to stay active during school holidays. These sessions have helped reduce social isolation, encouraged healthier lifestyles, and given families access to additional support through signposting to local services where needed. We have also continued to provide inclusive sessions for participants with additional needs and disabilities, ensuring everyone feels valued, respected, and able to participate at their own pace. Our approach promotes equality, inclusion, and a strong sense of belonging, helping individuals build confidence, independence, and lasting friendships. Performances, showcases, and community events have brought families and local residents together, celebrating the achievements of our participants while strengthening community connections. These events encourage volunteering, family engagement, and local pride, creating opportunities for people of all ages to support one another and celebrate success. As a Community Interest Company, any income generated is reinvested directly back into the organisation. During the financial year, funds have been used to maintain our studio, cover running costs, purchase equipment, and ensure we can continue delivering affordable, high-quality activities that benefit the wider community. Overall, Purple Door Studio CIC has continued to improve wellbeing, increase access to the arts, reduce isolation, and create positive opportunities for people of all backgrounds, making a meaningful and lasting contribution to the local community.
