During the year, the company took over the annual Christmas community event, including the switching of the lights, from another local group which unfortunately disbanded during that year. The company also organised the display of Christmas Flags along the main high street, involving local traders. The company recruited a Town Champion to promote the area, community activities and local businesses through social media. We also increased our membership base, enabling us to represent and promote a wider range of businesses, strengthen collaboration between traders and support the continued development of the town's local economy. The company also successfully campaigned the Town Council to offer free parking on Fridays for a fixed period, helping attract more visitors to the area and increase footfall for local traders. The website has been maintained and an events calendar has been added so that it continues to be a tool for traders, the local community and visitors, to access to find out what is on in the area, source a trader if they need one and see the beauty of what our town has to offer.
