COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

MAKE THE JUMP CIC

Company Number: 16022283 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

In our first year, Make the Jump ran two 6-week mentorship cohorts, each pairing 10+ individuals of Asian heritage with an industry expert. Each cohort involved a minimum of 1 hour of 1:1 mentorship contact time, plus online and in-person workshops covering topics including protecting your legal work, personal branding, the realities of running a business, and exploring different industry pathways. Each cohort concluded with a public end-of-programme event, free for mentees and open to ticketed members of the public: "Rising to the Occasian" at art'otel London Hoxton, in partnership with Occasians - panels on progressing in the creative and entertainment industries, and the influence of Asian heritage on creativity and storytelling. "The Jumpstart", in partnership with Kanin Films - hands-on workshops on personal branding and working with clients, followed by public networking with a live DJ set. Across both public events, approximately 200 people attended in total. Directly, 20+ individuals of Asian heritage received structured 6-week mentorship from industry experts, alongside workshops on legal, business, and career development topics - addressing a lack of accessible, culturally-relevant mentorship in the creative industries. Indirectly, approximately 200 members of the public and the wider creative community benefited from attending the two end-of-programme events, gaining industry insight and access to a professional network they may not otherwise have had.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company consulted with stakeholders informally throughout the year. Mentees were consulted through informal chats during and after the 6-week mentorship cohorts, allowing the company to understand their experience and needs. Following each public event, informal reviews were carried out with attendees and partner organisations (Occasians and Kanin Films) to gather feedback on what worked well and what could be improved for future programmes. This feedback directly informed the format of the second cohort and event.
