Furry Potatoes Guinea Pig Rescue has remained committed to the welfare of pet guinea pigs. We take in guinea pigs who have been surrendered by their owners or removed due to neglect, we provide appropriate accomodation, socialisation and vet care. If the animals are deemed healthy enough, we find them carefully vetted new homes and provide the adopters with extensive education and support to ensure their needs will be met for a lifetime. We also offer a "take back" guarantee which ensures that any adopted guinea pigs will be returned to us if circumstances change. We have rescued and rehomed 189 guinea pigs this year. We also work hard to create and spread educational content via our website and social media channels with the aim of improving care standards of pet guinea pigs everywhere, not just the individuals rehomed via our rescue. We have also collaborated with other organisations such as Rescue Not Retail in their campaign to end animal sales in pet shops. In addition, we have supported local young people through our work experience scheme, welcoming students from local colleges. We have also worked with Surrey County Council to accomodate volunteering experiences for vulnerable young people.
