Mothership Life C.I.C. operates the Teens with Tots programme - a weekly peer support group for young and teenage mothers aged up to 25 and their babies, running in Shrewsbury and Oswestry, Shropshire. The programme was established in April 2024 by Jodi King, who is herself a former teenage mother. Mothership Life C.I.C. was formally incorporated in June 2025 to provide the governance structure to sustain and grow the work. During the reporting period the CIC: Delivered weekly peer support sessions in Shrewsbury at Palmers and in Oswestry at the Memorial Hall, providing a safe, welcoming, non-judgemental space for young mothers and their babies Supported between 8 and 20 mothers per session across the two venues, alongside their babies and young children Maintained referral relationships with midwives, health visitors, schools, Shropshire Council Early Help, Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS), and West Mercia Women's Aid Provided signposting and informal support to members navigating housing, benefits, mental health, and domestic abuse services Began developing a peer-volunteer pathway, with members moving toward accredited first aid and safeguarding training to take on volunteer roles Maintained a GoFundMe campaign ("Seen. Valued. Beautiful.") to raise funds for the Pay It Forward scheme, which provides tangible treats and experiences for members Attended and presented to Oswestry Town Council's Youth Services Partnership Panel (June 2026) to raise awareness of the programme locally Applied for and received grant funding to sustain programme delivery (see financial information) The community that benefits is young mothers aged up to 25 in Shrewsbury, Oswestry, and the surrounding areas of Shropshire. These are women who frequently experience social isolation, perinatal mental health difficulties, financial hardship, housing instability, and in some cases domestic abuse. The group provides something that statutory services cannot: a consistent, peer-led community of trust. Members who have attended Teens with Tots have reported reduced isolation, improved confidence, and stronger social connections. Several have gone on to support newer members informally. One member described the group as having "saved her." A health visitor referred to the change she observed in a shared client as "remarkable."
Mothership Life C.I.C. consults with and involves its stakeholders in the following ways: Members of the group (the mothers themselves): Informal feedback is sought at the end of sessions on a regular basis. Members are encouraged to suggest activities, raise concerns, and shape how the group runs. Several members have been involved in the creation of the GoFundMe campaign and the group's social media presence. The group chat maintained between sessions is itself a form of ongoing consultation - it keeps the organisation responsive to what members need between meetings.
Jodi King received payments from the Teens with Tots community account during the reporting period in her capacity as Founder and Director, covering sessional work and mileage costs in connection with the delivery of the Teens with Tots programme. Details are as follows: sessional wages: approximately £5,975 across the period (June 2025 to June 2026); mileage reimbursement: £186.00 (December 2025) No other directors received remuneration during this period. Roxana Holland, Matthew King, and Emil Burris-Wedderburn served as directors on a voluntary, unpaid basis throughout.
