The Silverback Project CIC exists to improve health, wellbeing, confidence, practical skills and community connection through outdoor learning, green woodworking, conservation activities and family learning opportunities. During the reporting period, Silverback delivered practical outdoor projects and educational activities across East Kent. A significant commission involved the construction of a traditional roundhouse and outdoor learning environment for a local school. Silverback also supported public access improvements and conservation work through activity on the North Downs Way National Trail. Our activities benefit individuals experiencing social isolation, poor mental wellbeing, lack of confidence or limited access to outdoor learning opportunities. Any surplus generated is reinvested into future learning opportunities, volunteer programmes and community engagement activities.

Silverback Project CIC regularly consults with volunteers, participants, families, schools, community partners, landowners and commissioning organisations. Feedback is gathered through discussions, project reviews, participant feedback and direct communication with partner organisations. Feedback highlighted the value of practical outdoor activities in supporting wellbeing, confidence and skills development.

During the reporting period, payments were made to a director for the delivery of workshops, project facilitation, marketing activities and other operational services directly connected to the CIC's community activities. These payments reflected work undertaken in support of the organisation's objectives and were made at reasonable rates for services provided. Payments were not made solely in relation to the individual's role as a director. The CIC generated turnover of £10,721 during the reporting period and reported a surplus of £26 after costs. The majority of income received by the organisation was applied directly towards project delivery and operational expenditure associated with achieving community benefit. The directors consider that any payments made were reasonable, proportionate and necessary to enable the delivery of the CIC's community objective Cormac Martin 1646 project work
