During the financial year, MCD Works CIC delivered activities that improved the wellbeing, confidence and inclusion of children, young people and families, with a particular focus on those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We provided accessible wellbeing programmes, workshops and community events incorporating mindfulness, sound therapy, creative activities and peer support to help reduce stress, improve emotional resilience and tackle social isolation. The company also worked collaboratively with local schools, voluntary organisations and community partners to increase access to support, promote equality, diversity and inclusion, and amplify the voices of families with lived experience. Through advocacy, consultation and co-production, we helped families navigate education, health and social care systems while influencing local services to become more inclusive and responsive. Our activities strengthened community connections, empowered parents and carers with practical tools and knowledge, and created safe spaces where families could build supportive networks. By focusing on prevention, early intervention and community-led solutions, MCD Works CIC contributed to improved wellbeing and greater participation for people who may otherwise face barriers to accessing support.
