COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

HYPPANIE ESSENCE & FELT C.I.C.

Company Number: 14429250 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, HYPPANIE ESSENCE & FELT CIC continued to develop its environmental and community-focused activities centred on the reuse of human hair as a natural resource for environmental protection. The company produced and sold its first handmade human hair mats, designed to absorb oil pollution and improve water retention in gardens. Income generated during the year was modest and was reinvested into developing the project and maintaining the company's online presence. The company also continued to build partnerships and raise awareness of sustainable practices through networking, research and engagement with community organisations. Preparatory work was undertaken to establish future educational workshops, volunteer opportunities and collaborations that will encourage environmental responsibility, reduce waste sent to landfill and support local communities. Although trading activity during the year was limited, the company made meaningful progress towards its long-term community interest objectives by developing practical environmental solutions, increasing public awareness of circular economy principles and laying the foundations for future community projects.

Consultation with stakeholders

During the financial year, the company engaged informally with a range of stakeholders to help shape its activities and future direction. These included local gardeners, members of the public, environmental organisations, salons donating human hair, and potential customers interested in sustainable products. Feedback was sought on the practical use of human hair mats for gardening, water conservation and environmental protection. The company also maintained contact with Matter of Trust, an international organisation promoting the environmental reuse of human hair, to support the development of best practice and future collaboration. Networking with local organisations and community groups helped identify opportunities for future workshops, volunteering and educational activities focused on sustainability, waste reduction and the circular economy. Feedback from these conversations has informed the company's plans for future community projects and product development.
