During the financial year, IKB Foundation C.I.C. carried out community-focused activities aimed at improving the wellbeing and quality of life of socially excluded and disadvantaged people, particularly people from Black and minority ethnic communities, residents of deprived neighbourhoods, young people at risk of exclusion, young people with additional needs and migrants. The company supported community members through wellbeing activities, health information, social networking, practical guidance and opportunities designed to reduce isolation and improve confidence, skills and participation. Its activities helped individuals to build supportive relationships, increase their awareness of available services and become more involved in their communities. The company also worked to reduce financial hardship by providing or facilitating access to essential items and practical assistance, including food, clothing, household items and other support according to identified need. This assistance helped individuals and families facing unemployment, low income, social exclusion or other difficult circumstances to meet immediate needs and reduce the risk of their hardship worsening. By involving community members in the planning and delivery of activities, the company ensured that its work remained responsive to local needs. Overall, its activities contributed to improved wellbeing, reduced loneliness, increased social inclusion and stronger community connections. These activities were consistent with the company’s stated purpose of benefiting disadvantaged communities and improving health, wellbeing and quality of life.
During the financial year, IKB Foundation C.I.C. consulted with its key stakeholders, including beneficiaries and service users, parents and families, local residents, volunteers, community representatives, partner organisations, health and support professionals, and the company’s directors. Consultation took place through informal discussions during activities, one-to-one conversations, telephone and online communication, feedback from volunteers and partner organisations, and discussions at management and planning meetings. Stakeholders were asked about the challenges affecting them, the support they found most useful, barriers to accessing services and ways in which activities could be improved. Feedback highlighted the need for practical support for people experiencing financial hardship, accessible health and wellbeing information, more opportunities for social interaction, and activities that reduce isolation and build confidence. In response, the company placed greater emphasis on practical assistance, wellbeing support, community networking and inclusive activities. Delivery arrangements were also adapted where appropriate to make activities more accessible and responsive to individual and community needs. This consultation helped the company ensure that its activities remained relevant to socially excluded and disadvantaged communities, migrants, young people at risk of exclusion and people experiencing hardship.
