COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SOCIETY OF AFRICAN CARIBBEAN MIDWIVES CIC

Company Number: 16009761 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

The company remained dormant throughout the financial year and did not undertake any trading or operational activities. As a result, no direct community benefit activities were delivered during the reporting period. During the year, the Director focused on establishing the organisation’s governance, strategic direction and operational foundations to enable future delivery of community benefit. This included developing the organisation’s mission, governance framework and plans to support African and Caribbean midwives, promote equity in maternity and neonatal care, strengthen leadership and professional development and work in partnership with communities and healthcare organisations to reduce health inequalities. These preparatory activities were undertaken to ensure that, once operational, the company will be well placed to deliver sustainable community benefit in accordance with its community interest objectives.

Consultation with stakeholders

As the company remained dormant throughout the financial year, no formal consultation with stakeholders was undertaken. During the period, the Director engaged informally with professional colleagues and considered the needs of African and Caribbean midwives, maternity services and the communities they serve to help shape the organisation’s future strategic direction. These informal discussions were exploratory in nature and did not form part of a formal consultation process. The company intends to establish structured stakeholder engagement arrangements once operational activities commence.
