COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

RIBOLEAU COMMUNITY STUDIOS AND GARDEN CIC

Company Number: 16031804 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

The company runs a community studio providing low cost studio space for local artists, gallery space for resident artists and other members of the community at cost price and a resource room for meetings, workshops or community events, this is available at cost price or less. We are concerned with mental health and how art and music can help with certain conditions. We run creative workshops in photography and music, at a suggested cost of £3.00, but those in need are not obligated to pay. We also run a knit and natter for both men and women which has achieved some really good results. We hold regular workshops in resin art and ceramics. Other community groups hold their workshops here at cost or below. We have our garden, which is the last remnant of a much larger pleasure garden. We have volunteers who have helped restore the garden and who find it very therapeutic. We do this through Ryde Timebank. The garden is open to the public as a well being tranquil space. We have restored a Victorian pool and grow crops, potatoes, carrots, golden beetroot, corn and so on which we redistribute to this in need in the community through schemes like the ‘Oakfield Pantry’ and to the immediate community surrounding us. We are a small ‘oasis’ in a densely populated area and are planning to include sculptures in the park to create a tactile, sensory area that will engage with all levels of our community

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are artists who rent a studio from us, artists who use our facilities, people who take part in our workshops, our volunteers, people who visit our garden and other community groups that we work closely with or who hold their own events at our premises. We engage with and take notice of all our stakeholders and we listen. During this period we opened our building to more volunteers for refreshments and lavatories, we changed our choice of crops and the methods used, we made our pond a wildlife pond at the suggestion of a stakeholder. Photography was a suggestion from a stakeholder and that is going very well, along with music workshops. We try and het the viewpoint of every visitor and member of the community, to this end we have hosted a meeting of the growers association and have hosted a biosphere reserve festival. We ae also researching the history of the site which has significant interest to the local community.
