The company offered a wide variety of activities which benefited the community and in particular (without limitation) to the benefit of the growing Hong Kong community. During the financial year 2025, more than 300 sessions or 530 hours of activities were organised and benefited our service users in the following ways: * Volunteers and instructors were recruited to give regular interest classes, workshops and training to encourage learning of new skills and promote talents of Hongkongers. * Cantonese interest classes and workshops for children were offered to help young generations maintain Cantonese and learn traditional cultures. * Weekly drop-in sessions for newly arrived Hongkongers to share information and connect with each other. * An UK culture and wellbeing class was delivered to help new arrivals understand British culture and history, and promote regular taichi exercise. * A play reading performance and the 2nd Hong Kong Kids Music Festival were organised to share and celebrate Hong Kong cultures in the local community. * Festive events, food gatherings and outings were organised to provide socialising opportunities for Hongkonger migrants to connect with each other and make new friends. * Health talks, sports and wellbeing activities including taichi, yoga, kpop dance and latin dance were organised to promote active health and mental wellbeing. * Hongkongers were invited to participate, perform and volunteer in various local events to promote integration in the local community and build a sense of identity and pride among Hongkongers. * Training opportunities including safeguarding and mental first aid were arranged for volunteers. * Publicly accessible online resources related to living in the UK were updated with a database of close to 200 Hongkongers listed their paid and volunteer services and promote their business.
The company’s stakeholders are Hongkongers recently settled in Southwest London especially those in the Royal Borough of Kingston and the surrounding areas. Directors, founding members and lead volunteers of the company are also Hongkongers who moved to the UK in recent years and currently living in the area. Based on their experience and informal surveys, we identified the primary concerns and interests of our service targets, and focused on developing services to address their needs. Social media (Facebook, IG and online chat groups) was used to disseminate information, event news, connect people and share resources. The company has over 3,000 followers on Facebook and Instagram, and 1,300 members on WhatsApp and Signal. The website continues to offer event news and registration, useful information about living in the UK, and free listings of service providers with search function. More than 6,600 visitors were recorded in the year. Post event online surveys were conducted to collect feedback and suggestions. Verbal feedback was collected on site at events by volunteers. Comments and suggestions were welcome and responded in Facebook and IG accounts, as well as online chat groups.
