Key projects this year were connecting people to nature 1. Inside Out - a project with Bullingdon Prison - creating therapeutic gardens for both the visitor centre and within the main prison in the substance free living unit. Both gardens are flourishing and we have funding to continue stewardship for 2025/26 2. Further Upgrade of Kate’s Place project at Florence Park with monthly community days facilitated by associates and supported by a new Kate’s Fund 3. Story Museum planters and care - ongoing 4. People, Plants and Place a shared project with Barracks lane community garden supporting young unaccompanied asylum seekers as part of their First Steps programme at Oxford Spires Academy. 5. Outreach via Festivals at Wood and at Wilderness spread the word and raised donations for our social justice project
Our stakeholders are our beneficiaries and our associates as well as local communities we serve through our projects. The NaturEscape project in Florence Park continued to have wide engagement with many stakeholders including local residents, nursery parents, staff and the wider community of Flo's - The Place in the Park and Oxford City Council. Community engagement has been very strong, with working parties and fundraising activity.. The Inside Out project has been a collaboration with staff at Bullingdon Prison, Staff from PACT charity and with prisoners and their families at design stage and subsequently through the stewardship of the gardens We have supported a new project with Iffley Fields Residents association - inspired by Kate’s Place and led by new trustee Usha Waygood. The garden we built at St Francis School, designed by our wonderful director Laura Burt, has been nominated for an award from the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers! Through the project we transformed a plastic grass space into a immersive natural garden, providing play, shelter and food areas to suit both the children and wildlife.
No remuneration was received by directors for their services as directors. However some of the directors are also contractors of the company and have received remuneration for direct delivery of services as self employed, or sole traders, or company contractors. They are all registered for payment of Tax and indemnified separately for this work for The Nature Effect represents only a small amount of their independent income. Directors and Associates all give hours of our unpaid time each year to the administration of the company and in developing the direction of services, raising funds, volunteering in projects etc.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
