During the financial year, One Vision Creative CIC delivered a range of community-based activities designed to improve wellbeing, reduce social isolation, develop life skills, and promote social inclusion for local residents across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. Our weekly "Empowering & Stress-Relieving Community Project" provided a safe, welcoming environment where participants improved their mental wellbeing, built confidence, and formed supportive social networks. The project helped reduce loneliness and encouraged people from diverse backgrounds to engage more actively in community life. We delivered English language support sessions that enabled participants, particularly those from migrant and ethnically diverse communities, to improve their communication skills, increasing their confidence when accessing employment, education, healthcare, and other public services. Our digital skills sessions equipped beneficiaries with practical knowledge to use computers, smartphones, email, online banking, and government services safely and independently. This helped reduce digital exclusion and enabled participants to access employment opportunities, training, and essential online services. The company also created opportunities for volunteering, community participation, and peer support, allowing local people to gain valuable experience, develop transferable skills, and contribute positively to their communities. Through partnerships with local organisations, community groups, and volunteers, One Vision Creative CIC has strengthened community cohesion by bringing together people from different cultural backgrounds, encouraging mutual understanding, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Overall, our activities have improved participants' wellbeing, confidence, digital capability, language skills, and social connections, enabling them to become more independent, resilient, and active members of their communities while delivering clear social benefit in line with our Community Interest Statement.
During the financial year, One Vision Creative CIC consulted with stakeholders involved in the delivery of its National Lottery-funded "Empowering & Stress-Relieving Community Project". Our stakeholders included project participants, volunteers, and the National Lottery Community Fund. Consultation was carried out through participant feedback forms, informal discussions during the weekly Saturday sessions, and regular conversations with volunteers. Participants were encouraged to share their experiences and suggest improvements throughout the programme. Feedback showed that participants particularly valued the combination of English language support, digital skills tuition, and the opportunity to meet others in a friendly and supportive environment. Many reported that the sessions helped reduce stress, improve confidence, and increase their ability to use digital technology and communicate in English. In response to this feedback, we continued to deliver the programme in a welcoming and inclusive way, ensuring that sessions remained practical, interactive, and responsive to participants' learning needs. The feedback also reinforced the importance of maintaining opportunities for social interaction and peer support alongside skills development.
