COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

YESFEST CIC

Company Number: 16118761 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 December 2025

Company activities and impact

YESfest CIC operates youth eco summits with a festival atmosphere. Its purpose is to help children and young people build a meaningful connection with nature, with one another and with their local communities, while developing practical confidence to care for the planet. The core beneficiaries are primary-aged children, particularly those aged 8 to 10, with wider online and international activity involving young people up to age 14. The work also supports schools, families, educators, youth facilitators and community partners by providing positive, accessible and collaborative models for nature connection, sustainability learning and local action. The first reporting period covered the Company's incorporation in December 2024 and its principal delivery activity during 2025. The Company delivered and supported three flagship in-person YESfest events: YESfest New York, held at East Meadow, Central Park on 27 and 28 May 2025 in collaboration with La Scuola d'Italia New York. YESfest Harrow, held from 4 to 6 June 2025 at Harrow School, bringing together 17 schools from Harrow, other London boroughs and elsewhere in the UK. YESfest Pendle, held from 26 to 28 June 2025 at Harwes Farm CIC in Lancashire, with 20 schools and community youth groups, including an overnight camping element. Across these events, children took part in nature-based learning, outdoor and camping experiences, creative workshops, peer-led and youth-led sessions, practical activities and opportunities to connect with young people beyond their immediate school or community. International exchange was an important feature, with live or digital links involving partners and youth delegates in other places, including connections with the Eden Project, the United Nations in New York and youth groups in India. The community benefit was delivered through a deliberately welcoming, non- judgemental and celebratory approach. The events provided children with opportunities to spend sustained time outdoors, build relationships across schools and communities, exercise voice and leadership, and identify positive actions that they could take in their own settings. The programme was designed to make environmental learning feel achievable and relevant rather than abstract or overwhelming. Participating schools and community partners benefited from shared practice, peer networks and adaptable activity ideas. The Company also used its public communications and online presence to share its work more widely, encourage participation in future events, and strengthen a growing network of young people, schools and partners committed to nature connection and earth stewardship.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Company's principal stakeholders are the children and young people it seeks to benefit; parents and carers; participating schools, teachers and school leaders; host venues; youth and adult facilitators; community organisations; international partners; volunteers; supporters and funders. Stakeholder consultation was embedded in the planning and delivery of activities. This included: Pre-event planning discussions with host venues, schools and delivery partners, including practical arrangements, access, safeguarding, programme design and the needs of participating children. Direct dialogue with children and young people during activities, including opportunities for youth delegates and young facilitators to lead, host or contribute to sessions and international connections. Informal and structured debrief conversations with teachers, school leaders, facilitators, volunteers and partners after events, alongside feedback received through email, telephone, social media and other online communication. Feedback consistently reinforced the value of joyful, practical and nature-based experiences; youth leadership; opportunities to meet peers from different communities; and clear, supportive information for schools and families. Stakeholders also highlighted the importance of accessible arrangements, appropriate support for overnight and outdoor activity, clear safeguarding processes and a balance between local experience and global connection. The directors used this feedback in shaping subsequent planning and delivery. In particular, it informed the continued emphasis on youth voice and peer leadership, outdoor and camping opportunities where appropriate, accessible communication with schools and families, partnership working with trusted host venues, and international exchange that complements rather than replaces local relationships and action.
