| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| Going Concern |
| The company is part of the Crest Hotels Group. The financial statements have been prepared on the going concern basis which assumes that the group and company will continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The directors have reviewed the working capital requirements of the group and the company for at least 12 months from the anticipated date of signing the financial statements and are satisfied that the group and company will be able to meet its liabilities as they fall due.. |
| Functional and presentation currency |
| The company's functional and presentational currency is the pound Sterling. All amounts in the financial statements have been rounded to the nearest pound. |
| Turnover |
| Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. |
| Turnover represents the total invoice value, excluding value added tax, of rental income form operating leases received during the year. |
| Turnover for the company comprises solely of rental income which it recognises on an accruals basis. |
| Investment property |
| Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in fair value is recognised in profit or loss. |
| Investment properties are initially recognised at cost and subsequently carried at fair value, determined annually by the Director who is not a professionally qualified valuer. Changes in fair values are recognised in the profit and loss. |
| The investment properties are subject to renovations or improvements at regular intervals. The cost of major renovations and improvements are capitalised and the carrying amounts of the replaced components are recognised in the profit and loss. The cost of maintenance, repairs and minor improvements is recognised in the profit and loss when incurred. |
| On disposal of an investment property, the difference between the disposal proceeds and the carrying amount is recognised in the profit or loss. |

| Taxation |
| Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
| Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
| Deferred tax |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
| Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
