Q-SHIP SOCIETY CIC

Directors' report period ended 30 September 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 September 2025

Principal activities of the company

Every penny raised has been used solely for the benefit of the Society and its mission to preserve and promote an important part of our maritime history. As with any organisation, there are necessary running costs. Funds have been used for legitimate expenses including registering as a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.), maintaining our website, obtaining public liability insurance so we can attend public events, producing letters and information, and providing donation pots and recycling-for-charity boxes displaying The Q-Ship Society C.I.C. logo. These are all essential costs that enable us to operate and raise awareness. To clarify, The Q-Ship Society is not a registered charity. We are a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.), which is a not-for-profit organisation established to benefit the community. As a C.I.C., we are entitled to fundraise, and all funds raised are used to support our objectives. We do not pay our members, and we have never used donations to purchase personal items. If anyone has genuine questions about how donations have been used, we are more than happy to answer them openly and honestly. However, we ask that concerns are brought directly to us rather than unfounded accusations being shared across social media. Such claims are damaging, not only to our organisation but also to the volunteers who dedicate their time to preserving history. Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Q-Ship Society C.I.C. Your encouragement and trust mean a great deal to us

Year Ending: 30 September 2025

Company activities and impact

In hopes to preserve a WW1 flower class sloop To bring tourism to the local area with a museum that tell the story of Q-ships which has not yet been told. To offer a unique location for groups such as Scouts, Cadets and universities to gain experience for their future. To offer volunteering opportunities to charities of Mental Health and other needs to get back out into the community. To offer Local people the chance to volunteer and gain experience onboard. If placed in a good location e.g. Historic Dockyard, Dockside, Rochester, sheerness docks could be a pull to tourists in the Medway area, this would help toward getting regular trade for local businesses. Using local businesses for the restoration and rebuilding of areas on the vessel. Offering the hiring of the venue for special occasions such as weddings, proms, business meetings.
