We run funded programmes within a number of funding streams. In no particular order: Active Coffee Morning: This programme is progressing and there are now two classes – one in Stourport and one in Worcester. Funding is currently provided by Worcestershire County Council and by participant donations. WOW FC - The Worcestershire Oncology Walking Football Club. I helped to set up the sessions originally and continue to support with the organisational and social side organising matches, venues, trophies, refreshments and kit for example. We currently have funding from a donation made by a former player’s family on his death.
Our main stakeholders are Macmillan, Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust, Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group, Worcestershire Oncology Centre, Freedom Leisure and the participants of our programmes. We are on the Cancer Services Network and we support Macmillan and the cancer support groups by attending and presenting at their Living Well days, writing articles for magazines and accepting referrals onto our programmes. We are also in the process of talking to the University of Worcester about collaboration with their students.
