Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Fitness for Recovery CIC delivered free boxing and fitness sessions in Waterfoot and later Accrington for people experiencing mental health challenges and people in recovery. The project helped 41 people by providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where participants could improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Funding was used to pay for venue hire, boxing equipment, training and travel costs, enabling participants to attend free sessions. Participants reported increased confidence, improved mental health, reduced isolation, improved physical fitness and stronger social connections.

Consultation with stakeholders

Fitness for Recovery CIC consulted with participants, Red Rose Recovery and other community stakeholders throughout the project. Feedback was gathered through discussions and participant comments. This feedback was used to shape the delivery of the sessions, including the location, session content and support offered, helping ensure the activities met the needs of people experiencing mental health challenges and those in recovery.
