The company runs the Isle of Wight Randonnee with the purpose of a) promoting community participation in health and recreation and in particular cycling and cycling related activities for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Isle of Wight and its visitors; and b) raising funds for donation to charities and other organisations with charitable purposes which promote and/or benefit the health, recreation (and in particular cycling) and welfare of inhabitants of the Isle of Wight and its visitors. The 2025 Isle of Wight Randonnee was held on 4 May 2025 and had approximately 3,000 participants including residents of the Isle of Wight and visitors from other parts of the UK and from overseas. As in previous years local schools contributed by selling food and beverages from checkpoints and in return benefitted by raising funds for school activities. From the funds raised by the company from badge sales and donations the company was able to donate a total of £12,000 for charitable purposes benefitting the community including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Sight for Wight, Wessex Cancer Trust (Isle of Wight Branch) and Isle Access. Local businesses on the Isle of Wight also benefitted from the large number of participants visiting the Isle of Wight for the Randonnee.
The company's stakeholders are residents and visitors to the Isle of Wight and in particular participants in the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee and the local schools which provide food and beverages at certain checkpoints. Feedback from participants in the Isle of Wight Randonnee and from residents of the Isle of Wight is submitted via the company's Facebook page, via email and in person. Positive and adverse comments are carefully considered and, where appropriate and possible, factored into the planning for next year’s event.
No remuneration was received
Other than the donation of £12,000 for charitable purposes referred to above, no transfer of assets other than for full consideration has been made.
