Since being established in September 2024, Ffydd Gobaith Cymru CIC has developed into a trusted source of early intervention and family support for vulnerable families across Neath Port Talbot. Over the past year we have worked with families experiencing multiple disadvantages, including poverty, mental health challenges, substance misuse, domestic abuse, social isolation, and involvement with Children's Services. Over the past year we have worked with families experiencing multiple disadvantages, including poverty, mental health challenges, substance misuse, domestic abuse, social isolation, and involvement with Children's Services. Our aim has been to provide compassionate, non-judgemental support that empowers families to build safer, healthier and more stable lives. * Key achievements * Established a welcoming community hub offering practical and emotional support to families. * Delivered one-to-one mentoring and advocacy to parents navigating complex systems, including Children's Services, housing, benefits and healthcare. * Provided emergency food, clothing and essential items to families experiencing financial hardship. * Developed safe peer-support opportunities where parents and carers could share experiences, reduce isolation and build confidence. * Created inclusive activities for children and families to improve wellbeing, strengthen relationships and encourage positive community connections. * Began developing digital inclusion support to help families access online services, employment opportunities, healthcare and benefits, reducing the impact of digital poverty. Partnership working Throughout the year we have strengthened relationships with local organisations, community groups and statutory services to ensure families receive coordinated support. Our collaborative approach has enabled us to signpost families quickly to specialist services while continuing to provide trusted, ongoing community support. Looking ahead As demand for our services continues to grow, Ffydd Gobaith Cymru CIC aims to expand its family support programme, increase community activities, develop its parent support groups, improve digital inclusion, and provide more opportunities for children and families to thrive. Our long-term vision is to ensure every family, regardless of circumstance, has access to compassionate support, practical resources and a community where they feel valued, respected and empowered. Although we are still a young organisation, the past year has demonstrated both the need for our services and the positive difference that early, relationship-based support can make in improving outcomes for children and families across Neath Port Talbot.
