During the reporting period, Community Matters CIC has worked to support individuals, families and the wider community through practical, inclusive and accessible community support. Our activities have included providing food bank support, emergency food parcels, fresh and surplus food, toiletries and essential items to individuals and families experiencing hardship. We have provided a warm, safe and welcoming community space where individuals can access refreshments, social interaction and support in a non-judgemental environment. We have also promoted mental health and wellbeing awareness and signposted individuals to appropriate services and organisations where further support is required. Community Matters CIC has organised and supported free community events and activities aimed at reducing social isolation, strengthening community connections and providing inclusive opportunities for children, families and individuals. We have also worked with local businesses, community organisations, volunteers and local services to respond to identified community needs. Our support is inclusive and is not restricted by postcode. Where we have the resources and ability to help, we aim to provide support. These activities have benefited the community by reducing hardship, improving access to practical support, promoting inclusion and bringing people together.
Community Matters CIC regularly engages with members of the community, volunteers, local organisations, businesses and other community services. We gather feedback through face-to-face conversations, direct communication, social media and engagement at our community activities and events. Feedback and identified community needs are used to shape and improve our services. This enables Community Matters CIC to respond to local needs and adapt the support we provide.
