Company activities and impact

Calder Community Squash has continued to build on its mission of changing lives through the power of community sport. Throughout the year, we have focused on creating more inclusive and accessible opportunities for people who may traditionally face barriers to participation in sport. A key part of our work has been the upskilling and training of community leaders from underrepresented and hard-to-reach groups. By equipping individuals with the skills, confidence and qualifications to deliver activities within their own communities, we have helped create sustainable pathways into sport and physical activity. We have also delivered a range of targeted programmes designed specifically to remove barriers to accessing squash. These programmes have addressed challenges such as cost, cultural and religious considerations, confidence, representation and a lack of local opportunities. By working closely with communities and partner organisations, we have been able to provide welcoming and inclusive environments where participants can develop not only sporting skills, but also confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging. Our community-led approach continues to demonstrate that squash can be a powerful tool for social change, improving physical and mental wellbeing while strengthening connections between individuals, communities and local sports clubs. Calder Community Squash remains committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to benefit from the positive impact of community sport.
