During the financial year, 0161 Education CIC delivered over 300 one-to-one education and mentoring sessions to more than 10 children and young people referred by schools and local authorities. Our sessions combined education, mentoring and sports-based activities to improve attendance, engagement, confidence, emotional wellbeing and behaviour. Young people took part in activities including boxing, football, strength and conditioning, outdoor learning, cooking and classroom-based learning, alongside mentoring focused on resilience, emotional regulation, positive decision-making, healthy relationships and future aspirations. Working closely with schools, families and other professionals, we tailored support to each young person’s individual needs and regularly reviewed their progress. As a Community Interest Company, our work has benefited the local community by providing vulnerable children and young people with a safe, supportive environment that promotes positive choices, increases engagement with education and helps improve long-term outcomes.
