Keighley Made CIC is a not-for-profit, membership-based Community Interest Company established to support, connect, and promote manufacturers in and around Keighley, West Yorkshire. The organisation is led by local manufacturers and exists to strengthen the area's manufacturing sector through collaboration, knowledge sharing, skills development, and community engagement. The CIC provides a platform for manufacturing businesses to network, share best practice, develop local supply chains, and address common industry challenges. It works closely with educational institutions, local authorities, business support organisations, and industry groups to raise awareness of manufacturing careers and help develop a sustainable future workforce. Keighley Made CIC's activities include member networking events, factory visits, industry presentations, business support initiatives, and outreach programmes with schools and colleges. The organisation also represents the interests of local manufacturers through engagement with regional stakeholders and strategic economic development initiatives. The CIC's primary community benefit is the promotion of economic growth, skills development, employment opportunities, and manufacturing excellence within the Keighley area. By fostering collaboration between manufacturers, educators, and community partners, the organisation aims to enhance the region's manufacturing reputation, attract new talent, and support the long-term sustainability of local industry. Keighley Made CIC was incorporated on 14 November 2024 as a Community Interest Company and operates as an independent, member-led organisation dedicated to serving the interests of the local manufacturing community.
Keighley Made CIC organises regular member meetings that bring together manufacturers from across the Keighley area to share knowledge, discuss common business challenges, and identify opportunities for collaboration. These meetings are member-led and focus on topics that are relevant to local manufacturing businesses, with expert speakers invited to provide insight on issues such as skills development, productivity, employment law, digitalisation, sustainability, funding opportunities, supply chain resilience, and business growth. The meetings provide a forum for members to exchange best practice, learn from one another's experiences, and build stronger relationships within the local manufacturing community. By facilitating open discussion and peer-to-peer learning, the CIC helps businesses improve performance, address shared challenges, and identify opportunities for joint working. These events also enable members to stay informed about developments affecting the manufacturing sector and provide a collective voice through engagement with local authorities, business support organisations, manufacturing alliances, and regional economic initiatives. The meetings contribute directly to the CIC's objectives of supporting business improvement, strengthening local supply chains, developing skills, and promoting the long-term success of manufacturing within the region.
