| FOR THE PERIOD 17 JANUARY 2025 TO 31 MARCH 2026 |
| 1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
| H & M Skip Hire Ltd is a |
| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| Turnover |
| Turnover represents income derived from skip hire and waste disposal. Skip hire income is recognised on the supply of goods. Waste disposal income is recognised at the point waste is received and accepted. |
| Intangible assets |
| The company holds personalised vehicle registration plates as an intangible asset. The plate is recognised at cost, being the purchase price plus any directly attributable acquisition costs. Registration plates are considered to have an indefinite useful economic life because there is no foreseeable limit to the period over which the asset is expected to generate economic benefits for the company. Accordingly, the asset is not amortised but is reviewed for impairment annually, or whenever there is an indication that the carrying value may not be recoverable. Any impairment loss is recognised immediately in the statement of income and retained earnings. |
| Tangible fixed assets |
| Improvements to property | - |
| Plant and machinery | - |
| Computer equipment | - |
| Taxation |
| Taxation for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |
| Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted. |
| Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date. |
| Deferred tax |
| Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date. |
| Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
| Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. |
| Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
| The company has implemented an auto-enrolment pension in respect of all employees. Contributions are charged to the statement of income and retained earnings in the period to which they relate. |
