Compliance with accounting standards
The financial statements have been prepared in compliance with Section 1A of Financial Reporting Standard 102, "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, as modified by the revaluation of certain tangible fixed assets. The financial statements are presented in sterling (£), which is the functional currency of the company.
These are the first financial statements prepared under FRS 102 Section 1A; in the prior period the company qualified as, and prepared its accounts under, the micro-entities regime (FRS 105). The change reflects the directors' decision that Section 1A better meets the reporting needs of the company's stakeholders. There is no change in the recognition or measurement of assets and liabilities on transition other than the adoption of the revaluation model for certain tangible fixed assets as described below; comparative figures have not otherwise been restated.
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are initially recognised at cost. Cost includes the original purchase price and costs directly attributable to bringing the asset to its working condition for its intended use.
Subsequent to initial recognition, plant and machinery is stated at fair value, with any revaluation gains recognised in other comprehensive income and accumulated in a fair value reserve, except to the extent that a revaluation gain reverses a previous impairment loss or revaluation decrease recognised in profit or loss, in which case the gain is recognised in profit or loss. Revaluations are performed with sufficient regularity to ensure the carrying amount does not differ materially from fair value at the reporting date. All other classes of tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses.
Depreciation is charged so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets, less their residual value, over their estimated useful lives, using the straight-line method, as per the approved rates.
The assets' residual values and useful lives are reviewed, and adjusted if appropriate, at the end of each reporting period.
Gains and losses on disposal are determined by comparing the proceeds with the carrying amount and are recognised in profit or loss, except that any related balance held in the fair value reserve is transferred directly to retained earnings.
Impairment of fixed assets
At each reporting date, the company reviews the carrying amounts of its tangible fixed assets to determine whether there is any indication of impairment. If any such indication exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of any impairment loss.

Notes to the Accounts
for the year ended 30 November 2025
Grants relating to revenue are recognised in other operating income in full in the year it is received.
During the year the company recognised a capital grant of £20,000 from East Cambridgeshire District Council towards the cost of a new flow-wrap machine, which was brought into use during the year; the grant is released to income in line with the policy. The company also recognised a revenue grant of £12,500 towards retail consultancy costs incurred in developing a new product range, which has been recognised in full in the period to which the related expenditure relates.
Shopify Pending Balances adjustment
During the year, it was identified that sales had been duplicated between the company's Xero accounting records and the Shopify/A2X sales integration, resulting in balances recognised as Shopify Pending Balances (within debtors) that did not represent valid assets, as the same sales had already been separately invoiced and recognised directly in Xero.
Of the total duplicated balance, £6,360 related to the year ended 30 November 2024 and has been treated as a prior period adjustment, correcting an error in that year's financial statements:
Retained earnings (accumulated losses) brought forward at 1 December 2024, as previously stated: £(518,349)
Prior period adjustment: £(6,360)
Retained earnings (accumulated losses) brought forward at 1 December 2024, as restated: £(524,709)
As a result, the loss for the year ended 30 November 2024 has increased by £6,360, from £95,449 to £101,809, and debtors at that date have reduced by £6,360, from £42,513 to £36,153.
A further £3,707 of similarly duplicated balances arose during the year ended 30 November 2025, prior to resolution of the underlying integration issue with A2X. This amount has been included within cost of sales (other direct costs) for the current year. Following both corrections, the Shopify Pending Balance has been written down to nil at the balance sheet date.
