Sing Play Connect CIC has maintained it's relationship with a local charitable early years SEND setting, delivering weekly support classes for children with complex neurodivergent diagnoses. Research conducted by Sing Play Connect CIC has been recognised and led to conference presentations and commissioned training opportunities as part of the funded Birmingham Early Years Music project 'Sounds of Play'. Sing Play Connect CIC, has delivered CPD on SEND music to regional early years providors and family hubs, both face to face and online, reaching many organisations. We hope that this training feeds into the support given to the children in their care and has a wider impact on families in the wider community.
Consultation with regional early years music organisations have enabled us to develop training to support the wider community. Stakeholders informed us of the gap in understanding of the benefits of musical interventions in SEND practice and shaped the nature of our CPD workshops and staff training that we delivered in their catchment area. We collaborated to reach a wider audience and empower non-specialist early years practitioners in using music to support the children in their care.
