MUTUAL AID ROAD REPS CIC

Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 July 2025

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods have transferred to the buyer. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Other accounting policies

Short term creditors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price). Loans and other financial liabilities are initially recognised at transaction price net of any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method. A current tax liability is recognised for the tax payable on the taxable profit of the current and past periods. A current tax asset is recognised in respect of a tax loss that can be carried back to recover tax paid in a previous period. Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences between the recognition of income and expenses in the financial statements and their inclusion in tax assessments. Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. Deferred tax is measured using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference, except for revalued land and investment property where the tax rate that applies to the sale of the asset is used. Current and deferred tax assets and liabilities are not discounted.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

MUTUAL AID ROAD REPS CIC

Company Number: 12754639 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 July 2025

Company activities and impact

MARR is a Mutual Aid community initiative which was set up in the face of the COVID- 19 pandemic in March 2020, in order to reach out and offer support to the thousands of vulnerable individuals and families across the Medway Towns, many of whom had been self-isolating or shielding. Now in our 5th year we continue to support our communities across Medway providing a calendar of Community Outreach Events targeted at lonely and isolated adults including those with various disabilities and conditions which often leave the person isolated from their community. We continue to offer Telephone befriending for those unable to leave their home and we accept referrals from other Voluntary Care Sector organisations, our local Council as well as GPs and Social Prescribers. We also accept self-referrals via our website and social media platforms. As we finish this financial year we have secured funding from The National Lottery, Medway Council, Kent Community Foundation, The Colyer Fergusson Trust, The Barchester Trust, The Coop Community Fund and a whole of host of community donators. We are eternally thankful for the continued support our organisation has received and deeply thank both our funders and our amazing volunteers

Consultation with stakeholders

The company does not have any “official/registered” stakeholders. We believe that our community are our stakeholders and everything we do is aimed at supporting and empowering those within our community suffering with loneliness and isolation. We run publicly accessible events every week, which are organised by our volunteer base and made up of community members & beneficiaries. At any given time, we are working with approximately 60 beneficiaries and eceiving weekly referrals from the Joy Platform. After each Community Outreach session, we request feedback and are proactive in adapting our services when required.

Directors' remuneration

Catherine Belmonte is employed by the company as Operations Director and she receives £15 per hour for the work she does, to drive the community initiative forward. Timesheets and diaries are kept and signed off by one of the other directors to ensure transparency.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
