During the reporting period, KINDLY CIC, operating through the Trafalgar Girls platform, continued to support the integration and wellbeing of Ukrainian refugees in the UK through practical advice, peer support, skills development and community activities. Our Telegram ‘Help’ Group, supported by two volunteer moderators, provided free peer support to over 3,000 members, with around 600 weekly viewers and 40 questions each week covering employment, housing, healthcare, education and other aspects of life in the UK. The Telegram ‘Things’ Group, with approximately 2,500 members, enabled refugees to exchange donated furniture, clothing, household items, toys and books, helping families access essential goods. We provided monthly online activities including Women's Circle sessions with a volunteer life coach, art therapy led by a volunteer psychologist, career webinars and photography workshops. These provided emotional support, as well as opportunities to develop new skills, employment prospects and improved confidence. Participation ranged from 5-20 people for wellbeing sessions to 30-60 for career and photography events. A dedicated WhatsApp community supported engagement with these activities. The organisation also brought people together through a Christmas celebration attended by over 70 adults and children, a community picnic for around 40 participants, and promotion of free cultural events and tickets for members of our community. In addition, volunteer professionals produced monthly social media content on mental health and employment, providing reliable information and practical guidance. All of these activities have reduced social isolation, improved wellbeing, strengthened employment prospects and supported successful integration of Ukrainian refugees into their local communities.
KYNDLY CIC's primary stakeholders are Ukrainian refugees living in the UK who use the Trafalgar Girls platform and participate in our activities. In January 2025, we conducted an anonymous community survey which received around 250 responses. The survey collected information on topics including family circumstances, employment status and ambitions, English language skills, housing, financial situation, mental wellbeing, integration into UK society, benefits status, future plans and regional background. The findings provided valuable insight into the changing needs of our community and helped us plan services and activities that respond to those needs. We collect feedback after our regular online sessions, including Women's Circle, Business, Photography and Art sessions. During the reporting period, we received around 140 feedback responses. Participants consistently expressed appreciation for the free support, learning opportunities and chance to connect with others. We review all feedback and use it to improve future sessions, adapt topics to participants' interests and ensure our activities continue to meet the needs of the community.
