Largo Arts CIC aims to benefit Lower Largo and the surrounding communities by providing an organisation to promote wellbeing and inclusion through the nurture, support and provision of artistic activities. We aim to support, assist and initiate Art, Music & Performance projects across the community area. Inclusion, for all, is a key criteria for any project. Working with, and supporting other community groups provides a cohesive platform for mutual collaboration and support across all local networks. Largo Arts CIC has raised and provided funding support for a number of commissioned artworks from local artists which are placed across the community for public consumption. We provide support, promote and raise public awareness for other local groups to enhance engagement and opportunity for all (most notably through the ‘Largo Arts Week’ event).

Largo Arts CIC’s stakeholders are residents, artists, and businesses of and around the village of Lower Largo in Fife. We support and work with these stakeholders to provide activities and events to widen local interest and engagement & to bring the community together. Having established the annual Largo Arts Week in 2019, the event now has a solid reputation and brand which reaches far wider than the local community, attracting visitors from across Scotland and beyond to the event. This provides a substantial financial and reputational boost to the local economy and the brand has now firmly elevated the villages of Largo as an artistic destination. Largo Arts CIC continues to build on this identity working with national agencies to support funding, public relations and reputation. Largo Arts CIC’s community involvement extends to Levenmouth, recognising the possibilities the proposed new rail link to Leven offers for the promotion of the arts along the Fife Coast. The operational model for Largo Arts Week evolved in 2022 to provide greater ownership for the community and local businesses. Previously Largo Arts focused upon establishing the brand with the aim of various vendors within the community taking responsibility for their involvement, whilst Largo Arts maintained an overarching management and promotional role. The funding model primarily relies upon contributions from the vendors and sponsorship income and was also secured via the Open Studios subscription.
