Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 November 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    Prior Period Adjustment The financial statements have been restated to reflect a change in accounting policy. The company has transitioned from the cash basis to the accrual basis of accounting. To ensure a comparable and accurate view of the company’s financial position, opening profit and loss account have been adjusted by a net total of £8,219. This net adjustment comprises:- -An increase of £8,320 to recognise historical trade debtors originating in periods prior to 1 June 2023. -A correction deduction of £101 to rectify an unrecorded reserve adjustment relating to the prior period. No adjustments to the turnover or net profit for the 18-month period ended 30 November 2024 were required. The restated opening balance of profit and loss account at the start of the current financial year (1 December 2024) is £19,692.

Company activities and impact

The principal activity of the company during the period was the management and maintenance of the communal land and facilities serving the nine freehold properties at Berkeley Mews. During the reporting period, the company continued to administer and maintain the shared areas of the estate for the benefit of all residents. This included the management of communal land, maintenance of estate records, administration of property ownership changes, and the collection and application of variable rentcharge contributions towards the upkeep and management of the estate. The company also undertook governance and compliance activities to ensure the effective administration of the community interest company and the continued operation of the estate for the benefit of all homeowners. These activities contributed to the preservation, management and proper administration of the estate's communal areas and facilities, ensuring that they remained available for the benefit of all residents.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are the homeowners and members of Berkeley Mews CIC, who benefit from the management and maintenance of the estate's communal land and facilities. Stakeholders were consulted through direct correspondence, email communications, meetings and discussions regarding estate management, maintenance matters, governance issues and property ownership changes. Feedback received from stakeholders was considered by the directors when making decisions relating to the administration and management of the estate, including the maintenance of communal areas, estate compliance matters and the ongoing operation of the CIC. Where appropriate, actions were taken to address concerns raised and to ensure the effective management of the estate for thebenefit of all homeowners.

Directors' remuneration

During the financial year, one director received remuneration of £300 in respect of accountancy services provided to the company. In accordance with the accrual basis of accounting, the company also recognised accrued director remuneration and professional fees of £4,104 relating to services provided during the financial year but not yet paid at the reporting date. These costs comprised £800 in respect of accountancy services and £3,304 in respect of governance, compliance and administrative services undertaken for the benefit of the company. Directors were also reimbursed for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred on behalf of the company in carrying out the company's activities and administrative functions.
